Hannah, you are so inspiring and reading your words just makes me happy. I wish all of these things for you, and more. And how the heck did I not know it was your birthday at VVC?!! Happy, happy, HAPPY belated. So now we know the theme of our summer dinner–a belated birthday celebration for you! And loved the memories of Prasad. . . such a great place, too. Big hugs and much love! xo

Wow only 5 days ahead of me birthday-wise! Gemini ladies! The photo of you holding the juice is simply gorgeous, as is that plate of fruit/almond butter/cashew creamy goodness – the breakfast sounds like the PERFECT way to kick off a birthday.

Now who runs out of bread at 9 on a weekend morning?!? Who!?

Happy birthday, darling lady! Excellent approach to breakfast, it all sounds utterly luscious and birthday-worthy. I hope 26 is an incredible year full of all the good things you want (especially more kissing!) xx

Lovely post Hannah … congratulations on “the big 2-6” as a young women once bemoaned to me. She should have read your blog (except you were only about 7 at the time so it would have involved some time travel. Still, all things are possible, right?)

Happy birthday Hannah – may your year be filled with such scrummy breakfasts and wonderful friendships – a good start bodes well

So glad Gena was able to break your birthday curse. 26 was one of my best as well (got married! went to Japan!) I hope they keep getting better and better for you. 🙂

Happy belated birthday! You are so young, and have done so much already, there is just almost too much awesome. 😉

  14. Gena

Enjoy 26, Hannah. I’m only just starting to realize how quickly it all goes. Every moment is sacred, so clasp them to your heart as best you can.

I’m pretty sure I wished you a Happy Birthday on Facebook but I’ll say it again here: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Let’s hope this year will be an even bigger one for you, filled with lots and lots of vanilla cashew cream! (man, that looks so delicious)

Aww Happy Belated Birthday! I kinda all about green juices at the moment, so Rita looks delicious.

P.S. I would have said it on facebook but I didn’t see it? Perhaps it fell when I was in China and things like facebook don’t exist 🙁

  22. Em

    Yay for Geminis!
And “kiss more”???? Is there something you are not telling us Hannah? 😉

  23. Louise

Happy belated birthday. Such a great post Hannah, I of course wish all of those for you and more. None of us ever truly know where we will be in 6 months or 6 years time, it’s one of the great wonders of life, and is indeed a source of inspiration.

  24. Kath (My Funny Little Life)

I’m so happy for you, Hannah! I think all those transformations of the past year show amazing courage and willingness for life (and feeling alive). Wherever this path will take you will be fine in that it represents a completely authentic choice of the heart. That’s the best way to live, isn’t it?

Like you, I’m very uncomfortable with the feeling to sit in a cage. Having my calendar full of dates so that I know what I’ll be doing and where I’ll be in the future is horror for me. Still, I need some sense of security and stability in my life. This is in large part provided by the people who’re real friends and family, like my husband Peter. We’ll probably stay in Cologne for the next few years (Peter doing his therapy education and me my PhD), but then who knows? We really want to travel and meet friends we only know via the internet so far. And then we’ll see where we’re going to end up. Who knows what life has waiting for us? Probably I’ll be successful in academia and we’ll go abroad. Or we’ll settle down on a small organic farm and grow our own vegetables. Or something completely different. I don’t have the slightest idea by now, but I like that all those possibilities are out there.

Now, I wish for you a wonderful and inspirational new year of life! (And I wish for myself there was a café like that around. 😛 The fruit, almond butter, and cashew creme breakfast … *_* Just wow.)

I’m a bit slow off the mark here… Happy birthday!! <3

Although something inside me is screaming that this post deserves more of a "congratulations"! Your meal looks wonderful; Gena is a priceless treasure x

Happy birthday again dearest, and I am so glad you started your day off with such good company and such good food. I am also so happy for you looking into this next year with such joy at life and such hope and enthusiasm for the future. That is how life should be. Plans don’t get you there – embracing each day does. I think you’ll have a wonderful year 🙂 xoxox

  27. Gabby @ the veggie nook

It makes me so so happy that you got to have a splendid birthday- you 100% deserve it. Curse broken!

I turn 25 in 3 months and I can only hope my 25th year is full of as many positive changes as yours was 🙂

  28. msihua

Is it odd that I think Gena looks a tad like you but with straight dark hair????
