  1. Kari @ bite-sized thoughts

I am enamored with everything about these blocks (except the ‘sinfully’ bit…you know how I feel about that too). I’m also intrigued as to how the hemp seeds combined with the pancake flavour – good? I’m eating pikelets with hemp seeds as I type so I kind of feel like I got the filling floury part of the eating experience but no cocoa 😉

Your description meant I could almost taste the chocolate myself! They sound amazing. I would love to try chocolate that tastes like pancakes : )

Man oh man you get the best chocolate. You are like a chocolate pimp. When I looked at the ingredients on the vanilla bar, I read it as “Vanilla Poos”….. probably the only kind of poo I would consider eating, that’s for sure.

    Yeah…. I want these.

What a wonderful variety of chocolate you find over the pond! Looks like my Belgian supplier has it right when he states the fine chocolate bussiness is really booming in North America! Wonderful looking bars! 🙂

Maple sugar and vanilla, two such delicious flavours!

I think I sometimes use “guilt” and “sin” when talking about food, but it has nothing to do with morals really, and I’m not the sort to watch my weight either (thank you skinny Asian genes, please don’t let me down when I get older). So it’s probably more to hint that something is perhaps not the best for general health if eaten regularly, I think?

I think I can taste chocolate better through your blog posts than in real life. I should try to find these before I leave, methinks.

Oh Hannah! I want a full report on the vida-vegan! Love your descriptions and think that we need to develop a summoner’s code about the use of certain words to describe food.

“Smokiness, ash, bourbon and whisky.” YUP. That’s my jam. Sounds incredible.

I have seen these before but never tried them. I think I need to!

I hope you are having so much fun lovely at VVC lovely 🙂

Hope you are having a decidedly un-sinful birthday. I believe my favorite chocolate bar that I’ve ever enjoyed (which was also one of my first craft chocolate bars) had maple sugar in it. So good:)

I feel like I could taste and feel the texture from here, great description 🙂

I do like the sound of that vanilla chocolate and I’m trying to think if I’ve ever had vanilla chocolate. Nope! Don’t think I have xx

I love your refusal to apply moral labels to food. I realise I do this subconsciously (innocuously!!) but that in fact, these labels really mean something, and I’m doing my best to work them out of my vocabulary. I may not be affected by them, but others may be, and I wouldn’t want to inadvertently instill negative food/body/mind imagery.

    Go you!

Those chocolates look great … and good for you for getting on your soapbox re food and morality!

Hehe I admit that i was thinking that you weren’t able to resist it because of another ingredient! 😉

This chocolate block sure looks good!

New reader over here, got the link to your site from your roommate at VVC! 🙂 Your recipes look AMAZING, and I really got to get my hands on some of that chocolate – I think it’s worth leaving work early and going up to their EcoHub, don’t you think? 🙂

that hemp gold sounds delicious – I dream of pancakes with chocolate when planning recipes but rarely make them – always seems too decadent esp as most of my pancakes are made for breakfast.

and I love the sound of your maple drenched pancakes of your childhood – they sound swanky compared to the lemon and sugar ones I ate but I guess sylvia is now as likely to have maple syrup as lemon and sugar on her pancakes

  19. Heathy

YUMM! Would you believe that I just finished the hemp bar you gave me, yesterday?! I savoured it, nibbling little bits here and there – and then in the past week I’ve carried it around in my purse to snack on while being out. That vanilla one looks sooo good!!

  20. Appetite Affliction

Aww, man. YUM! I’m a freak for raw chocolate. These look super sensational!

Eee the skull logo is so cute.

Wow, these look so great. I wouldn’t be able to resist either. We hemp deprived Australians are powerless to resist. And how did we end up living in a maple-free continent? Life can be so cruel. I have birch syrup at the moment that I’m putting in drizzle form on my morning porridge. It’s delicious.
