You are hilarious. I love your elitist pudding with its shameful trashy secret. I promise not to tell this pudding’s golfing buddies from the country club that I totally saw him drinking wine out of a box in a Snuggie the other night.

Ha HA, best description of a pudding ever!! And I just referenced Bourdieu’s “habitus” in a french paper I am writing at work. CAPITAL indeed.

I amke so many ridiculous spreads with pumpkin. And sweet potato. Sweet, savory, somewhere in between… there’s nothing it can’t do!!! And now I’m craving Reese’s. Thanks for that. 😛

I think you should call it high class trash pudding 🙂 well actually I would like to have fun brainstorming some names for your pudding – I’m not into those sort of academic theories but I miss academic life because it finds the time to just focus on small details and in academic life a pudding is never just a pudding!

I saw a fantastic sign outside a cafe today which seems to fit with this post “you are what you eat, so don’t be fast, easy, cheap or fake”.
I think I would quite like to be this easy-going, boundary-crossing pudding 😉

  6. leaf (the indolent cook)

I like the look of the pudding but also that leafy antiquey spoon on the side!

    Polka-dot chickpeas…. snort.

  8. Kari @ bite-sized thoughts

I think, with the fancy spoon, definitely high culture. With the plain metal spoon (and also! no tablecloth), it might just slip to low culture. This is the pudding for those of us who want to live both lives 😉

Hehe I had to look up hegemony because the first thing I thought of was hedeghogs and that didn’t really fit into the sentence 😛

oooh i love the addition of the cereal!

  11. Hotly Spiced

I’m pretty sure that’s not a cereal I’ve ever experienced. And I don’t think we can buy tinned pumpkin here either. I’m sure this is a very tasty dessert (or breakfast) xx

Wonder what would happen if you left out the trashy cereal? It would probably still be delicious.

  13. Gabby @ the veggie nook

hahaha classy and trashy in one dish, I just love it.

I feel like I would want to eat thin while drinking wine and watching TMZ or something equally ridiculous. Not that I watch that, it just seems fitting 😉

So many of my favourite flavours all in one bowl! This would be a great addition to 5-Ingredient Mondays (, if you’re interested 🙂
