Oh my goodness, I loathe grocery shopping at the best of times, I’m not sure I could handle having to line up to get in … even if it is the elusive and magical-sounding Trader Joe’s.

  2. Katie

Hahaha…oh Hannah. You crack me up. Love reading your blog!

  3. Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table

A line?! That’s nuts. I love TJs, but I wouldn’t have braved a line just to get in. That chocolate is the jam though. 😉

  4. Emma

Margaritas?! Girl, what. I want to get in line for some of that!

What was the occasion? Why a long lineup? Stockpiling before a storm or some crazy sale? I wish TJ’s was closer to my home-to-be in Houston but a close Whole Foods will have to suffice. 🙂

When I read the opening sentence, I was all, “mmhmm, just like that time we- oh! There’s my name!”

While this post makes me shake my head ruefully and say “Oh YOU, Trader Joe’s”, it also really makes me want this chocolate. Especially with the margarita connotations.

They have bouncers at Trader Joe’s?! Oh wow…

Thing is, I’d be happier lining up at Trader Joe’s than a nightclub these days… what the hell is wrong with me hahaha…

  8. Lorraine @ Not Quite Nigella

Are you serious? They need bouncers? I’ve heard people love Trader Joe’s but lines around the corner? Is that normal? 😮

  9. Lou

Now I want cocktails and chocolate (probably in that order I would say…..)

I would love to visit a Trader Joe’s actually, I’ve heard quite a lot about them… and this chocolate sounds worth trying!

Amazing how so few ingredients in a chocolate bar can conjure up margaritas. It’s about cocktail hour right now – I’d better get me a margarita xx

Jeez, was there a cover charge too? I have never seen a bouncer at any of the TJs in my area, that’s crazy!

Margarita chocolate sounds fantastic to me, I love citrus chocolates.

That is one very popular store my friend who needs clubs 😛

I’ve never entered a Trader Joe’s store because we don’t have them over here. But if I ever get the chance, I’ll look for this chocolate. Not only because the flavors and texture sound so cool, but most of all because it’s round. 😀

Wow, I know Trader Joes is great, but lining up for groceries? That’s a little too much for me to handle.

    Margarita chocolate? Sweet!

I am sure I would queue up to go to trader joes – it always sounds amazing when I hear it talked about – perhaps just because it is foreign! The chocolate sounds delicious too in a strange sort of way – I couldn’t believe only 4 ingredients – have you had 4 ingredient chocolates before?

Wow, really, Trader Joe’s? That’s crazy, and kind of hilarious. Same with the margarita flavor from the chocolate, ha ha! I do heart Mexican-style chocolate though.

Funny how you mention that chocolate. I went all over the store and couldn’t seem to find it (and my store didn’t have a line to confuse me). I did find, at the register, a similar bar that has added caramel. I thought it odd the recipe I found didn’t mention the caramel part in the bar but bought it and made the brownie bites that I was trying to make from a recipe that prompted me to look for the bar (or so I thought–when I go tomorrow I will look for a BLOCK). Everyone loved the brownie bites made with the caramel/pepper/salt bar and it just happened to be 3 oz. which was what the recipe called for…thought I had the right bar! I have to try the recipe again with the block. Thanks for some laughs. I’m not sure I’d queue up for TJ’s if there was a line like you said but if it was the only way to shop there…I might. I love the store and love shopping there. And I’m like another gal–not usually someone who loves to grocery shop but Trader Joe’s changes you and you look forward to shopping there.

    Fun blog as always.

Is NY so hip that even their grocery stores have lines? Ridonkulus!

  20. whisperinggums

Anything that smacks of Margaritas has me … I’m not into mixed drinks really, except for one, Margaritas!

  21. Silvia

Queuing for entering a grocery store? Wow!

    But that chocolate looks good!

  22. Camille

Now this is something that I never would have tried, but now you’ve got me intrigued. I just tend to run in horror from anything labeled “Mexican Chocolate” because a) I really can’t get over hating chocolate and cinnamon together and b) (possibly related) we got some of that godawful Abuelita or whatever it’s called – the Mexican chocolate disks in the yellow box that you’re supposed to use in mole or something – and it was so palate-searingly horrible that nobody even took my boss up on the offer to eat pieces of it for money. Really.

At least I don’t have to line up for the Trader Joe’s near my parents’, though. 🙂

This post made me go hmmm. Hmmmm, no I wouldn’t queue to get into a grocery store. And hmmm, no I don’t want to try that chocolate. There’s something about those round chocolates that really doesn’t appeal. Can I reject many brands just because of their shape? Probably. Why not? Plenty more chocolate in the sea. Speaking of which salt and pepper doesn’t speak to me either. Still always interesting to read about your adventures.

This Organic Stone Ground Salt & Pepper Dark Chocolate seems very appetizing. Me also I cook some dessert with pepper. Red Kampot pepper is size for this use, lot of perfumes.

I am SO excited to visit Trader Joe’s. YES.
