Excuse me Ms Gigglepants, you were definitely far more “tipsy” than me. In fact, you had veered so far away from tipsy that you were firmly in DrunkTown. :p

  3. Kate (What Kate is Cooking)

Don’t worry- number 1 happens to me on a regular basis 🙂

If I can’t find a place can I come live with you and mak smoothies all day?

  5. penny aka jeroxie

I love your green smoothies. Just have to be not lazy to make it. Actually I might just make some on weds when the weather is warmer and not wet and grey like today.

That cocktail sounds pretty good. And sunflower butter in a smoothie? Genius idea! I love that stuff so much.

In relation to your attempted break-and-enter… on Friday I was going to a friend’s house for dinner, and when I got to her place, I locked my bike up under her house and walked up the back stairs, to see an open back door. I poked my head in, and heard a shower going (though the bathroom door was shut, thank god), and saw the kitchen was dark and *really* messy, and there was no cooked food in sight. I went halfway down the stairs, then went back up, then decided I must certainly be in the wrong place. As I was unlocking my bike and trying to sneak away, all the sensor-lights came on, and I was sure I was going to be busted. Luckily I was not, and I discovered my friends house was actually across the road. Oops.

Haha well I look forward to a moment exactly like that soon. After all as a newbie to my driver’s license it’s entirely possible that that is in my future! 😛

Sorry I missed the teetering, but must say that Corey’s cocktail is the prettiest!

V funny! I hope your neighbours didn’t find you at their door!

Now I want a green smoothie – that emerald one looks so good – I agree with you about bananas – v dull by themselves but they make smoothies so excellent – though I can also recommend avocado in a smoothie if you want to thicken it and keep it gorgeous green

Wow, spinach in a smoothie! I want to try them all! But naturally, I want to try the Wicked-referencing one first.

I don’t have a car, but I have definitely done numbers 2 and 3, more than once.

That straw is very, very cool.

  11. thatssoron

hahaha, now i’m craving for smoothies too

  12. ProChef360

    One word.

  13. Margaret

I love that line “drinks that look like they’re breathing on their own”! Ha ha

Oh…., and what about putting your key into ‘what you thought was your car’ and it actually opened the door (but failed to start the engine), then realised you weren’t in your car but someone elses who was running towards you like you were about to steal their car. Mmm, try getting outa that one…., I seriously don’t think I did get out of it & there’s a very odd man in Canberra still freaked out & watching out for me. Heat is getting a bit much I have to agree…., but these smoothies are a bit of fun huh 🙂

It is freezing here, but you’re making me crave a smoothie! Bilberries? Another new one to me.

  16. Evan Thomas

I’m not a smoothie person, so the best looking thing there is definitely The Old Spica, haha

  17. Kath Lockett

Want them all. Even the greenish one that breathes.

  18. Simply Life

oh my gosh, I wish I was in the heat right now! okay, I wish I was out of the negative temps!

  19. Casey @ Insatiably Healthy

Oh wow, that is one GREEN monster!
So jealous that your in nice enough weather to sip a chilly drink 😉
Counting down the days till I am too.

  20. Hannah

Delicious and refreshing combination! I drink smoothies and juices all year round, relentlessly, so I’m always happy to have more recipes/ideas. Just wish there was more fresh fruit to be found in these parts… Jealous of your summery heat!

Thanks for the laughs. I did the apartment thing far too many times. The feeling of… I dunno – dumb relief, when you realize and head up that final flight hastily before the tired neighbour opens the door on you. Another thing I miss about living in Manhattan

OOOoooo… YOu are definitely a WICKED fan or an OZ fan.. but now that song is stuck in my head.. and all I see is green!!! WuhOoOooo… Goes and finds myself a glass of “green” beverage

You pretty much made my favorite morning smoothie ever with your Colour [sic] Purple. ;P (Blue/black/raspberries with banana, almond milk, and spinach, and perhaps some other add-ins like maca, bee pollen, honey, protein powder, and/or coconut butter.)

Actually, all of these sound amazing. I’ve never put white (or any) nectarines in a smoothie!

And as for your list at the top, don’t fret. I was whining to Matt the other night that I couldn’t find my cell phone anywhere. I had it in my hand.

Green smoothies seem to be taking the blog world by storm. Can’t say that I fully understand the appeal. I don’t really want spinach at breakfast all that often, and if I want it, then I want it with savoury stuff, not in a sweet smoothie. The Colour Purple looks like something I could consider though.

  27. Louise

I found some chia seeds a few weeks ago! At Coles! Will get to blogging about them at some stage. The vibrantly coloured drinks do look pretty, and somewhat enticing- the purple more than the green I think. It’s surprising that you don’t taste the spinach- glad to hear that you can hold out on the kale for now, but I bet that you try it at some stage.

  28. GirlonRaw

Hahaha no1 made me laugh so much as yesterday whilst Pat was looking for his office keys, I was berating him for not putting them on HIS new idea of the key hooks. 20 minutes late for work later, and we realised I had them in MY hand all along!! LOL.

Great post on smoothie inspiration. Glad you are loving the straws my friend!

  29. Camille

I do believe it was smoothies (oh, who are we kidding, it was milkshakes) that got me to eat bananas to begin with. I used to be an avid banana-hater, and now I rather like them. Love the color of that emerald city smoothie!

  30. Susan

Woah those are some brightly coloured smoothies there! I don’t know about spinach in a drink though… I guess I will have to try it

  31. Conor @ HoldtheBeef

Oh yes, bananas are the missing link of smoothies. Or something.

This post makes me sad and happy. Sad because it reminds me that I can’t enjoy such smoothies for another 6 weeks or possibly ever, but happy because it makes me realise I can construct different types of smoothies I AM allowed to enjoy! I’m on an annoying FODMAP diet as of this week and am only allowed to eat certain fruits, and only ever ONE SERVE of ONE FRUIT at a time. Seriously. I’m a fruit fiend, it’s heartbreaking. But… spinach isn’t a fruit! Hooray!

[…] a while would know, I bought a Vita-Mix earlier this year in a post-Christmas haze of gift-glory. I loved the superhero blender then, and I love the superhero superhero blender in two […]
