    I do something really similar to zucchini with my food processor. Of course, mine isn’t raw because I eat it with normal sauce, and, uh, saute the zucchini. But it’s still an awesome way to increase veggies while decreasing refined flour. SCORE!

    I remember reading that Demi Moore is on a raw foods diet which is a plus because she looks great. Mr NQN grew up on one when he was young-his mum loved the simplicity but I don’t think she made it that palatable. Dinner was often one whole cabbage placed on the table. No amount of spiralising could save that lol. Happy New Year Hannah!

      Demi Moore has apparently been into raw foods for about 7 or so years. That is when I first heard about it 🙂

    Spiralisers sound like so much fun. Fun way to eat veggies! And I don’t want to make any raw enemies, but there was an interesting documentary on SBS the other night (tuesday? wednesday?) which showed a few experiments and other sciencey things, suggesting that the nutrients in cooked food is easier to digest. I thought I’d read the opposite in raw propaganda. I’m always skeptical of anyone using science to support their opinions, but it was an interesting documentary… That said, I do really dig a big plate of raw stuff on a summery day, so stuff the science either way!

    In summer time, I like to do the raw zucchini pasta – its lovely and light and fresh – but I’ve never done it with a raw sauce to match. However, that marinara sounds delicious and extremely full of flavor – bet it was sooo good!

    Love this Hannah. And I love the new look of your blog. I ate raw a couple of years ago and will never forget how great I felt. I need to get one of those spiral slicers to make those noodles. Very nice.

    While this does look wonderfully light and refreshing in a salad-ish way, I would make the following modifications:

    1. It would not be raw.
    2. The zucchini ‘pasta’ would be actual pasta.
    3. The zucchini would be IN the sauce, instead. It is, however, welcome to retain its spirally shape 🙂 Because those lil zucchini swirlies are CUTE!
    4. It would be served piping hot.
    5. It would be topped with approximately 11 types of cheese.
    6. It would be served in a portion roughly 6 times larger than yours (I have designated enormous ‘pasta bowls’ at my place…. they resemble tureens more than bowls. Sadly they aren’t as pretty as your plate).

    ….. In other words, it would bear little resemblance to the dish you have made. Ahh well, different strokes for different folks n all that! I would DEFINITELY keep the dates, though! I think I’ve got some in my pantry…Hmm.. Perhaps tonight I will make my own non-raw, infinitely less virtuous version! Hoorah! 😀

    Im in Melbourne & checking out one of the Raw restaurants tonight. Mr HG is intrigued enough to have made a reservation…. I know not where we go!!

    The spiraliser looks intriguing. I think I’d probably prefer pasta though. The cashew cream pasta sauce you were tempting your mother with sounds intriguing and would make an excellent blog post I reckon.

    ok, FINALLY made this tonight with rave reviews from one of my four male eaters. My spiralizer which is great at curly fries could have been more proficient but the sauce worked well. I like it.
