This looks too pretty to eat but I’d love a big spoon and for you to turn the other way for only a minute or so.

It’s so hot today that I could have that one and one just like it. Looks yummy!

  2. Hannah G

all this joy from 1 glass ? Must try this. Today I’ve jumped on the berries, banana yoghurt bliss train of frozen smoothy deliciousness, but I do have a few nectarines handy…

” and then the dragging sense of tiredness that turns your shadow into anxiety because how can you possibly get everything done you can’t you feel sicksick about it”…oh Hannah, you have captured it perfectly.

I think I need this smoothie. Thanks :)

  4. Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table

I’m sorry you’re so stressed! I think I actually heard pineapple is good for stress… either way, I am loving the looks of this smoothie. Hope things calm for you soon.

My happy place is my kitchen. Baking relaxes me. :)

  5. Kelly @ Foodie Fiasco

Yup. In times of need, turn to a delicious smoothie. You, my friend, know what you’re doing!

I want to try Sun Warrior, but I’m kinda scared off by the price. What do you think?

It sounds like you should download a podcast like this one: http://elsieyogakula.wordpress.com/2008/01/25/episode-62-yoga-nidra-yourself-out-a-65-min-deep-meditative-relaxation/

and do some deep breathing in a dark room! Followed with more smoothie, of course.

Oh yay, thought that was weird… not like Hannah to close comments! Bring on the comments, ya ya yaaaaa!

Anyway, this looks absolutely the ticket for a beautiful sunday arvo in the hammock. Man I want a Vita Mix (not that I need one to make this smoothie, but ya know, just typing and wishing).

I think sunday arvo in the hammock is a happy place for me :)

  8. Cara @ Gourmet Chick

My happy place is in a park under a tree. But this smoothie would make a lot of places feel a lot happier I think.

You know what I’m going to say right about insomnia? RIGHT? I TOLD YOU SO! And Guess who’s back in the country??!!!

  10. Lorraine @ Not Quite Nigella

Awww poor poppet! How exhausting! And I am very much a fork user over spoons-I can’t eat dessert with a spoon, it must be a fork. Unless it’s sweet soup-then I think using a fork would be pretty useless :P

My happy place is lying on a beach ‘feeling’ the warm sun and a gentle breeze wafting off the ocean, ‘listening’ to the sound of the surf, ‘seeing’ a mostly blue sky and ‘smelling’ the salt in the air. To ‘taste’ a wonderful smoothie would top it off, with all senses sumptiously satisfied.

  12. Daisy@Nevertoosweet

Your happy place is like mine :) I usually have a big bowl of matcha ice-cream and I lie in bed with my Macbook and read blogs too ~

This looks like a great and healthy smoothie! Gotta try but what is a Vita Mix is that just a blender?

  13. Shannon

Still searching for my happy place.

This smoothie sounds about as close as I can get to “my happy place” these days. Off to freeze some bananas…

  14. Lisa (bakebikeblog)

    hope you feel better soon!

and what a great way to use nectarines -that have been so well priced lately!

  15. JohannaGGG

Wow I think you do need that smoothie! so do I – it looks amazing and is full of my favourite fruit – it is too long since I bought a pineapple. Good luck with the sleep and the stress and the new housemate – I think you need to drink as many smoothies as it takes :-) PS my happy place is often bed at night with my book because so much needs to be done to get there and relax!

  16. Lisa @ Blithe Moments

Oh Hannah – the stress demons have you! I know them so well. The lying away thing is the worst but I have found that if I have a notepad next to my bed, I can just write down all the things I’ve thought of that must be done and then I can sleep because I know they are recorded so I won’t forget them. Yes, in times of stress I find lists very soothing. No idea what that says to me.

Frozen smoothie drinks also sound soothing, and maybe one of these days I will actually get a blender to make such things!

  17. Casey @ Insatiably Healthy

I just bought a blender this weekend. This is only making me all the more excited!

  18. whisperinggums

I think you’ve missed a few adjectives and adverbs. Try better next time … but, the smoothie looks great.

  19. leaf (the indolent cook)

I came around the other day but couldn’t leave a comment. My happy place is more of a situation, of being free from dastardly obligations. A delicious smoothie would help, too!

  20. Agnes

That first photo looks like the moon.

    Or a misshapen cookie.

I’ve got some news to make you happy, I think. I, the least likely of all your readers to ever seeeeeeriously consider making your raw balls recipes, have now made not one, but two of them.

My fella’s family visited our new home over the weekend, and his mother and sister were partaking in some sort of cleanse that prevented them from eating anything tasty that I could immediately think of to make. I got very excited to make your raw brownies with icing of pure amazingness or what not, but they were overly hesitant of agave nectar (I think they just didn’t know what it was) and said nay to that recipe. And so… we blended up the lemon poppyseed truffles AND the mango, date and sunflower energy balls for them. We used unsulphured apricots in place of the overly-sugared mango slices (they were trying not to eat refined sugar / sweeteners).

They were a frickin HIT !! Thanks so much for making so many people happy this weekend, without even knowing it:)

I’m working on finding a new happy place here, but it’s proving tricky. I’d say I’m happy behind the lens of my camera – – and I’ve got a lead on borrowing darkroom equipment, yay !

  22. Helen (Grab Your Fork)

Oh you do know how to make healthy look good! And my happy place is wherever my friends and family are :)

  23. Hannah

Congratulations, I believe you have just written the longest sentence I have ever seen!

Sending you hugs, and hopes that things get better asap…

    1. Ellie@Fit for the Soul

hehehe how funny! Yes she has ;)
And this looks out of this world, Hannah! Ahhhh so sad I don’t have nectarines or anything like that–but I certainly have coconut milk handy so I’ll def. use it up today. :D Hang in there Hannah, and don’t give up my friend!
      ps: gorgeous photos btw!

  24. Errign

My happy place = the ski area, making some turns in a bright sunny blue sky day, followed by a hard cider, preferably consumed across from a cute boy.

  25. Kath (My Funny Little Life)

Being neither a banana, nor a pineapple, nor a coconut milk fan – WHAT?! Did anybody just say I’m picky?!!?!? WTF?!?!?!?

    Anyway … Where was I? :D

Oh yeah, nectarines are always fine. And I *love* the vanialla SunWarrior, as you know. ;)

  26. juniakk @ mis pensamientos

at this rate, you might become vegan and glutenfree!! go you with all these healthy recipes :)

  27. hungryandfrozen

That is my favourite line from that song.

Oh Hannah, I feel like when we meet we’ll already be at the curl up on the couch and eat many snacks of a salty, spicy and sweet nature and watch movies and not even have to say much stage. Hope the smoothie did the trick, and if it didn’t quite, know that there’s at least one person out there that feels like that more than just sometimes!

  28. Heidi - Apples Under My Bed

OH! I spy my blog, aren’t you the sweetest, reading it with your smoothie. Which I would LOVE right now. That would be my happy place – smoothie & reading your blog hehe.
    Heidi xo

  29. Ricki

Love your happy place, and must admit mine is not too far off. Wish I had more time for reading. alas!!

  30. Camille

Right now, my happy place is one where I wake up without an alarm, get dressed in something other than work clothes or pajamas, and spend the day not at work. Then I need like ten more days like hat, where I can catch up on email, blog reading, blog writing, recipe retyping, cleaning the house, calling my family, and maybe when I do go back to work, they’ve installed air conditioning, because even though it’s only like 5 C outside, my dungeon already feels like summer in Texas in my un-air-conditioned car. So I guess what I’m saying, is I could totally use one of these smoothies. Cold, refreshing deliciousness. Aaaaahhhhh.

[…] to me, rather foreign. A side effect of overthinking everything and being prone to anxiety-based (non-edible) frozenness is that I rarely spontaneously overindulge and feel guilty […]

This was good! Kind of tangy and very fruity/tropical tasting indeed!
