Quick! Someone get this girl a horse and a polka dot gingham dress! 😀

  2. Kath Lockett

Drat – Lorraine said it first! If anyone deserves the scenario you so gorgeously described, it’s you.

…and I can’t enter your competition, because I’m not an Aussie resident *sniffle*

And to think I called my favourite muffin a plain raspberry! I didn’t realise what I was missing out on in the mixed berry and maple syrup stakes 🙂

I also didn’t realise what I was missing out on by not daydreaming about horses and warm grass and Laura Ingalls Wilder-esque scenarios. Your picnic is tugging at me…

  4. Fi

    What am I dreaming about?

  5. Lou

Sounds just delightful! Polka dots AND gingham? Woah, slow down there Nelly, don’t you think you’re getting a little crazy there? Have you had to much lemonade? All these muffiny notions are going to my head… sweet berry thoughts have me all in a stupor!

for a minute I thought I was in an old spice advertisement 🙂 I think it was the I-am-on-a-horse moment!

maple syrup and berries sounds wonderful in muffins – I am now daydreaming about eating one – it is exactly what I would love to nibble on right now

Ah yes, now it’s my turn to be jealous of your climate, as I have to bid farewell to berries for the next half a year. Sigh, these muffins sound amazing though! Perhaps I’ll just jump the gun and make them with frozen berries.

  8. Tammy

Frozen berries will work just fine but then it might have to be gingham checks.

I don’t think a day goes by when I don’t dream about being near a sweet, lovely pony. Much to my delight, my favouuurite Canadian horse girl drama Heartland is back on, and sneaky internet gnomes have been posting the new episodes for horse-lovin’ Yanks (and others) such as myself.

I also can’t stop myself from watching American gymnastics girl drama Make it or Break it, so I daydream a lot about gymnastics too. I wish I could still twirl around on the bars; why’d I have to go and grow too tall???:(

You now of course know that I am daydreaming of my upcoming Hawaii trip as well. GRRRRrarrrrrrrrghhhh I’m excited!:D

Oh, and whenever you dream of life on the prairie, or in the big woods, or in the dugout, or in town, or wherever that cute brindle bulldog may be, my heart is with you and off dreaming the same things. xo.

I have a huge muffin craving lately – perhaps I will put these on the agenda!

  11. Caitlin @ Vegetarian in the City

those are so cute! and i love your muffin cups, very pretty colors. are they flexible??

  12. Amber Shea @Almost Vegan

You certainly do paint an idyllic picture 🙂 You also bake a swoonworthy-looking muffin!

I laughed all the way through this post and enjoyed every word. I would love to be official photographer of said dreamy day as it sounds so, well, dreamy smiley happy. Until that day, I am going to have to bake a batch of these to take to work and share as they do sound delish. Berries, maple syrup, muffins, can’t go wrong with that combination. Might have to chuck in some white chocolate, or pecans or, I know, PISTACHIOS! Thanks for sharing such a happy post.

I would just be happy with the lying with my friends on the grass in the sun with no anxieties and eating these muffins, sounds perfect to me!

  15. Alisa Fleming

Ooh, love that these are maple-sweetened. Must make very soon. I’m jealous of the recipients!

  16. Winston

Berries + Maple Syrup? Genius!!! I totally lol-ed at that mini fantasy episode you had over there. Hysterical ahha

  17. Kath (My Funny Little Life)

Whee, those must be perfect! 😀

  18. Jamee

Yummy!! I think I’m going to make these this weekend with my sisters! Do you need a really nice maple syrup, or will good ol’ Mrs. Butterfield (Butterworth??) do? 🙂 Thanks, Hannah!!

  19. Shannon @ Healthiful Balance

These look great, I bet they taste great to! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

Way to make even a humble muffin sound super exciting with berries and maple syrup and a cheese-making, bee-befriending horse. I’m sure everyone who you gave it away to would’ve been stoked.

I’m currently daydreaming about what else to add to my List especially since I’m supposed to finalise it today! (

    1. Emma

You could always befriend a bee-befriending horse! Although that might be as likely as finding a horse the caliber of Alfonzo. Which, in the sad case that you don’t know who I’m referring to, would of course be the horse belonging to Pippilotta Delicatessa Windowshade Mackrelmint Ephraim’s Daughter Longstocking.

Good luck finding such a horse in the next 9 months 😛

  21. Bryan

I like berried muffins that aren’t too sweet, but this one is okay cos adding maple syrup is too yum to pass up! Love the litte description of how you’d like to eat these muffins under the sn and on the grass.

  22. Heidi - Apples Under My Bed

oooooh what beautiful muffins, Miss Hannah! Berry and Maple Syrup. Truly a perfect match. Sweet sweet heaven. Now I’m totally day dreaming about these muffins. I bet everyone responded with that, but it’s true… that & the bubble bath I just ran. I picked up $2 bubble bath…$2!! 🙂

They looked and smelt beautiful, and I know at least one person who liked them.

[…] entire days cooking.  I have to downgrade my rating as a baker today, as I made a batch of Hannah’s berry maple syrup muffins and somehow forgot to put the melted butter in.  I had melted the butter, I just forgot to add […]
