Because all the cool kids are doing it, and I haven’t.
Written a Halloween-themed post, that is. You see, I didn’t have any fancy dress parties to go to or any orange foods to eat. No sirree. Today I had a lovely catch-up with a friend and rather a lot of chilli jam on toast for tea. That’s all.
Still, it felt wrong not to be getting into the Halloween spirit, and so I magicked up a memory, complete with photographic evidence, of a time when I did go Trick-or-Treating in Orange County (back before it was called The OC).
So, friends? Once upon a time, I dressed up for Halloween. While other kids might have been content with a stock-standard fairy costume, I wasn’t. No sirree.
I decided to be something far more inventive. Did you know that the Tooth Fairy has a fairy cousin? Well, now you do, because I dressed up as that cousin nineteen years ago.
I went Trick-Or-Treating as The Orthopedic Shoe Fairy.
And darnit if I was the comfiest kid within a ten-block radius. So there.
