I could see myself being Very Good Friends with this chocolate.

And goddamn.. it has been a really long time since I’ve had really good, proper custard. Mmm.. great weather for it, served hot, at the moment.

Maybe just stick to plain fresh raspberries with custard… it’d be pretty hard to mess THAT up 😉

This sounds like a must try Hannah! I’m there whereever custard is really 😛 I so wish rapsberries weren’t expensive in Australia 🙁

Custard – I’ve never ‘found’ that in white chocolate but it too is one of my favourite flavours/foods.

So where does this delight come from?

  4. croquecamille

I think it’s safe to say we all love you, rice pudding kerfuffles and all. 🙂

  5. Simply Life

    wow, what a unique chocolate!

Raspberry Sugar? I’m learning something new each day. I like the colors of this bar.

  7. Sook

Wow.. what an interesting looking chocolate. I would like to try it.

That looks super pretty! I’d be afraid to eat it 🙂

    Then again… no I wouldn’t!

Custard? Custard?! I need this chocolate in my life! And given how unlikely that is to eventuate in the immediate future… maybe I’ll just make some white chocolate custard.

Yeah I bought an $8 punnet of raspberries the other day. They were a bargain about a month back when for some reason the price dropped to $3.50 a punnet, but now it’s back up there again. I’ve been eating them on toasted brioche or pain de mie with brie and honey. Amaaaazing.

oooh I LOVE custard!!!! So so tasty 🙂

I wish I get send you some fresh delicious raspberries from NY! They are one of my favorite fruits. I don’t really like white chocolate, but I think that if it is a really high quality, custard-like one it might be tasty. And definitely with the raspberry sugar! Mmmmm.

L-Izzle: Aren’t you Good Friends with every chocolate you meet? Hmm, I don’t know – I think I like our custard as it is, really 🙂

Lorraine: I know! It’s so awful 🙁 I’m guessing the drought has something to do with it? At least, the drought is the reason my favourite close-ish berry-picking farm closed down!

Kath: Erm… made in France, bought in New York… *but* I’m pretty sure Louise found Bovetti chocolate somewhere in Australia once!

Camille: Aw! You’re like my sunshine on a rainy day.

    Simply Life: It was nice!

The Hungry Scholar: It looked even prettier in real life – somehow the photos couldn’t do it justice!

Sook: You’ll have to keep an eye out for it then! 😀

Monique: Oh, it’s definitely worth eating, not just looking at!

Jess: You’re obviously taunting me with your non-strict-student-budget lifestyle. That is mean. However, I will forgive you if you make white chocolate and peanut butter, or perhaps white chocolate and cashew butter, custard. Hop to it! 😀

Lisa: It’s pretty good stuff! 🙂

that chocolate reminds me of when my mum used to ice a sponge cake with white icing and sprinkle it with pink jelly crystals – it was a real treat! So a nostalgic connection makes me want to taste a piece but it would probably mess with my expectations!

Caronae: You know, if you were going to send me something from New York, I think I’d be hoping for Barney Butter or Justin’s new Chocolate Peanut Butter rather than raspberries 😉 But oooh, if you’re in New York, you should be able to find El Rey’s Icoa chocolate! I can’t remember exactly where I got it… amybe Zabar’s?! It’ll blow your “I don’t think I like white chocolate” mind! 🙂

Johanna: Aw, that cake sounds so pretty and kid-friendly! Do you mean the jelly crystals that you make jelly with, like Aeroplane jelly? Genius!

  15. Amber Shea @Almost Vegan

Oooh, that sounds so good! The bad-vegan in me loves custard! >;]

  16. Johanna GGG

yes jelly crystals like Aeroplane jelly – the kind you sneak a fingerful to eat when you are little and your mum is making jelly (or maybe that was just me)

  17. Hannah

Amber: I’m fairly certain that, apart from the egg yolk (which is a my-family addition to the recipe on the packet) our custard is vegan, or could be, if you take out the egg yolk… you know what I mean 😀 We use soymilk and there are no animal products in the custard powder… hmm, I wonder what flaxmeal would do to custard?!

Johanna: In this particular instance, I’ll have to say that was just you 😉

  18. Louise

I did find it in Australia once- at a shop in Mona Vale in Sydney

  19. Bovetti White Chocolate with Violet Sugar - Wayfaring Chocolate

[…] white chocolate surprised me with its strong custard flavour, yet after checking my Bovetti White Chocolate with Raspberry Sugar review I was chuffed to find that the same flavour existed there. Hurrah for me! I do so love it when I […]
