I don’t quite know whether to call you weird or wicked… but these are fun, either way.

  2. Kath Lockett

These are brilliant, Hannah. You know you could have a blog dedicated entirely to the real thoughts of statues….?!

  3. Conor @ HoldtheBeef

ahaha you crack me up like a poorly cared for statue!

You also gross me out by using the words congealing and faeces together.

HA! Yes he does bear a striking resemblance! I’m so glad you have those voices in your head telling you things like that-I have them too (and sometimes people just look at you like you’re crazy!).

Dag-gone Hannah, you’re getting funnier and funnier.

We’uns are eatin’ mulberries, cherries, & juneberries in the holler. And bamboo shoots. My chocolate-bar trees ain’t doin’ too well though.

    ha, funny post! :)

Whisperinggums: Sticks and stones may break my bones… :P

Kath: Now there’s an idea! Would definitely require much more travelling. I like this plan.

Conor: My mother can attest that I did, in fact, start giggling from my seat on the sofa when I wrote that caption. I think the words “I can’t believe I’m writing this straight after a food post” passed my lips.

Lorraine: I think that’s the first time I’ve actually been pleased by someone telling me I have voices in my head :D High five for our inner lunacies!

Dave: Aw shucks, you just made my night. Although you also made my night envious. Berries… Once upon a time, you gave me two punnets of berries. One was filled with tiny little red berries, smaller than red currants, which were quite tart. Were these juneberries? The other berries looked a bit like raspberries, but the seqments were more square and the overall berry was smoother. These were really sweet, but I loved both kinds rather obsessively. What were they? (Also, did you know you’ve ruined me for apples forever? I can’t stand them anymore unless they come from an orchard, which happens very rarely. I miss the taste of your apples.)

Simply Life: Thank you! Sometimes my head thinks of things other than chocolate :D

Oh this is brilliant…you are making my dreadfully dull day at work a whole lot better. I do love the statues playing Jenga.

Vaala: Hurrah! And now I feel as though I’ve made a positive contribution to the world :D Existential crisis postponed!

Well I was falling asleep at my desk (is it possible to be falling asleep, be doing heaps of work and feeling like your head is going to explode all at the same time? ’cause that was yesterday…) so you saved me!

Vaala: I think it’s called Post-Apathetic Work Disorder :D So you’re more than welcome!

Lesley: First off, hurrah for calling it Firenze! Pat on the back :) And thank you! I’m yearning for anywhere overseas right now…

    Hehe, love it!
Oh, the statue on the 5th picture was my favorite favorite FAVORITE statue in ALL of Europe. I saw a cheapo mini version of it at a souvenir stand in Rome, and thought “Oh, I’ll buy it next time I see one” (since they had the same stuff most everywhere). I never saw it again ::sob::

By the way, last night Matt said “You know that girl Hannah who comments on your blog? Well, I went to HER blog and read some of her posts [he mentioned this one in particular]. She is REALLY funny! I laughed out loud at a bunch of them. She’d be really fun to hang out with if we ever go to Australia…” :D

And do these folk come to life and wonder the city on a full moon? I am sure an art whisperer would know such things!

  22. Johanna

I mean wander the city (from you insights it is obvious that they wonder the city a lot)

Amber: I *love* that we’ve been in the same places so recently and enjoyed the same things :) But so sad about not finding the little replica again! When you’re surrounded be tourist kitsch, it’s hard to know which are the rare ones and which can be found everywhere :(

And thank you to Matt (and to you for sharing)! Seriously made my morning. And don’t say “if” you visit, say “when”. Or better yet, “when we visit later this year” :D

Johanna: Art Whisperers can’t give away every secret, because otherwise we risk losing the trust of our special friends ;) But I can tell you that some *definitely* looked to have moved positions slightly over the course of my two week stay. :D

I love it too!! It’s been an unbelievable joy relating to your sights and stories.
I’ll be sure to tell Matt thanks for you, and you can tell him yourself WHEN we visit! :P
