HAHAHA! You’re so right! And I thought David’s butt couldn’t get much better…but covered in chocolate? I think you’re on to something.

LOL, my favourite line “But if you like … the smug glow that accompanies supporting producers of I.G.P. edibles… go for it.” I’m afraid now all I can see are David’s bottoms!

The “No Added Sugar” concerns me. Is this artificially sweetened, DIET chocolate? I wouldn’t have bought it, either. But Italy does have some wonderful chocolates – I picked up a good sampling at the Slow Food supermarket when I was in Torino last fall.

Amber: I just had a vision of myself sneaking into the Galleria Dell’Accademia at 3am with a paintbrush and a bucket of melted chocolate…

Lorraine: I didn’t name one of my thesis chapters “Anything you can consume, I can consumer better” for nothing! 😛 And re: David’s bottoms… there are worse things, right?

Camille: Sadly, I think it was! That probably accounts for the lack of nuance in the chocolate itself. I actually have found Amadei here, though have yet to decide which ones to buy. Chuao has been called one of the best chocolates in the world, so I *suppose* I should pick that up… 😛 Have you tried any Amadei?

TasteofBeirut: Perhaps it’s just my singleness getting to me 😛

Amadei is fantastic. Get the Chuao, you won’t regret it… except is is on the fruity side, so you might not dig it, but it’s so nicely balanced with an earthiness, and really, the first time I had it I was shocked at how different it was from any other chocolates I’d tasted. If you can find the Porcelana, buy as much as you can afford. It is the Platonic Ideal of chocolate.

Camille: Thank you! That’s exactly what I needed to hear. I’ve read that the Chuao, No.9, and Porcelano are all fantastic, but I trust you and your knowledge of my tastes, so shall get myself a couple Porcelanas. And Camille? If you have your new address sorted out before the 7th, I could always swing a few your way too…

Looking forward to hearing about the gelato!

Ooh! I’m not moving until the 17th, so maybe I could send you my curent address? Also, looking through my chocolate stash this morning (hey, I’m moving, gotta clean out the shelves a little, right?) I was reminded that I wanted to tell you to look for Domori while in Italy. I think you’ll especially like the Apurimac (from Peru) and the Teyuna (from Colombia).

Laura: I think that may be the first time David’s been called a Cherub. I think usually he goes by Great Big Hunk O’ Man Meat. 😀 And never you fear, I’m planning a gelato wrap-up post (oh hang on, I have to do the second half of the macaron story first…)

Camille: You wanted to tell me to look for Domori? Or you wanted to make sure I sent you along one of those too? 😛 (The same place that has the Amadei did have some Domori, though all I can remember seeing was the white chocolate mint one). Email me your address, and we’ll be in business! (Though I have to admit it’ll be more like one Porcelana each for the both of us… those little blighters are 7.80 euros for 50g! Definitely worth it though :D)
